PRECIOUS on the BIG screen tomorrow

Hi Guys!

Finally the movie Precious will be showing in Sweden from the 29th of January. I am looking forward to watching this movie. It has only received positive critic from the Stockholm Film Festival. I must say Lee Daniels totally sold the movie to me when he was interviewed at the SFF. One thing he said that struck me was that he said that he was surprised to see how the movie was appreciated by a white audience because he had never watched the movie with so many whites before. He went on to say that the movie was primarily produced for a black audience... and that´s why it felt awkward for him. Interesting !

The movie is filled with big names Mariah Carey, Lenny Cravitz, Monique and even Oprah Winfrey has had a share in the production.

Hi Guys!

How is the weekend so far? Has the MJ news sunk in yet? I am both chocked and sad for especially his family and children but also for the music world. He has inspired so many artists dance moves. The likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Neyo and so on... The list is endless!

However sad to say, there was a lot going on with guy, we just did not know about, right?... All the same, we will remember him for his GREAT, GREAT music. One of fav songs is "I will be there". The video sums it up for me. Enjoy it!

Here comes some good news for all you fashionistettes out there! 14 November is a date for you all to remember. It is the day that H & M opens it's doors to present a collection by Jimmy Choo. The collection will include mainly shoes and purses, however a small collection of clothes for both men and women will be sold.

According to the press information that has been provided the shoes and purses will cost between 398 and 1998 kr. Not bad ha... if not, well start saving now! The collection will be launched in 200 H&M boutiques mostly in big cities. I am sure Stockholm will be one of them!

Finally summer is in Stockholm

Hi Yáll!

It has been a very long, cold and dark winter but today I saw with my very own eyes a summer sign. It's such a relief to finally see that we are going towards brighter days.
About my blogging, honestly, I just had no energy to write. You can't imagine the anxiety I felt, everytime I thought about my bad updates but now l will do my best.

Back to SUMMER..... So much to do and to look forward to! Here are a few things I have longed for, for summer 2009.

No:1) Swedish strawberries

I don't know but there is just something about the strawberries here that just give me this feeling that it is finally summer. l simply have to have mine with some whipped fresh cream with a touch of vanilla. Hmmmmmmm Yummy Yummy

No:2) SALES in swedish: REALISATION

Lets face it, this credit crunch has left us all opting for cheaper alternatives right! I am looking forward to this year's sale period, which is officially starting this weekend. However a few shops have false started their sales due to the economic situation.

Check this pair of shoes l bought last year for just 149kr.

Hope I can do better this year in terms of price....

No:3) Outdoor training:

I am so glad that my gym arranges some of the training sessions outdoors. It's so much fun. I will support this arrangement as much as possible.

Hi guys!

Sorry for the terrible update but these past few days my internet connection has not been available and neither was my telephone working so I was kind of isolated. Finally after calling the support center in India we were able to get back on the net.

This weekend, not much action, I was at home. One of the days though, I watching a documentary about the world`s fattest man, Manuel Uribe, and I was thinking to myself "How can someone get this HUGE? Almost 350kg, incredible!!!!

...."I mean he is so big, he has not been able to get out of his bed for almost six years", they said,
....So big, he is in the Guinness world record for the fattest man ever known,
.....So big, that if he lost the weight he would also make it to the Guinness world record for The person, who has lost the most weight ever...

Well, I was so intrigued by the fact that the people around him did not say or do a thing about his condition. I mean his family, friends, workmates, etc, I think they could see that his weight was escalating. I even blame it mostly on the doctors especially for not doing anything about it . I think it´s high time doctors actually confronted their patients about their overweight and obesity problems.

On the brighter side of life though it was stated that Manuel Uribe is on a Low Carb diet just like the one I am on nowadays. The nice thing too is he is losing lots of weight, Nice right... So that's even more proof that the GI- low carb diet works. Yippie!!! Well, all I can say is just don´t let the weight take over your life or someone in your life, like it did for this guy... Coz it was really miserable to see!

Todays diet
Breakfast: Yogurt with3 sorts seeds(Sesame, linseed and psyllium)
Lunch: Had no time to eat so I grabbed a Low cab, low GI chocolate bar and had 2 fruits to it
Snack: Tea, tea, and a boiled egg with cavier
Supper: I will have Spaghetti Bolognaise with some Soya Bean and lentil salad.
Am off to the gym will work out 1 hour intensive workout...Burn some fat

Day 9 -today´s diet regime " I must eat pizza"

Hallo,

Guys today was the worst day of all since the diet started in terms of craving. It´s that period when a woman just has to eat whatever she craves and today it was the Authentic Italian Pizza. Mine has to have Mozzarella Cheese, with air dried ham, basil and tomato... I thought of you all, my newly found bloggville family, how you have supported me. I also thought of how far I have come. So, I decided to once again resist. l told myself no and I DID IT!

Instead, when I came home, l made an omelet. With, guess what? My favorite pizza ingredients Mozzarella Cheese, air dried ham, basil and tomato...It was just as good as a pizza, try it too.

Base for omelet For 2
3-4 eggs
1/2 a cup milk
1 cup of grated cheese
Crushed garlic
butter to fry in
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper together. Melt butter and wait until it´s reasonably hot but not too hot. Pourover the egg mixture. Let it cook at low heat. Sprinkle some cheese over the eggs...At this stage, you can now add and combine which ever ingredients you find appealing, tuna fish, onions. shrimps, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. The choice is yours... Sprinkle more cheese over and leave on the heat until the cheese has melted. Serve with a good salad.

So next time you get a pizza crave and you can eat something healthier as an Omelet version of your favorite Pizza.

Carrot and broccoli soup and fish
I trained one hour at low intensity. It was really nice to go back to the gym.

Hi all,
one week has now passed with me on the GI DIET. I have said to myself, I will only weigh and measure myself only once every week. So today was the day and here is the verdict... weight: -2,5kg; waist: -0,7cm and hips: -1cm.

Why is it so important with the waist measurements?

The goal for women is less than 80 cm and for men is less than 94 cm. Fat around the waist increases the risk for Type-2 diabetes as well coronary heart diseases. Statistics show that those with waist measurements that are over 88 cm for women and over 102 cm for men, are prone to diseases. So make sure you measure yourself and see your status.

Do not despair, if you are overweight!
Take control, of yourself and your lifestyle. Think like this, you are most likely eating more than what your body needs and /or can burn. The best way is for you to, first do a diet plan that you will follow religiously. Eat healthy food and start training at least 30 minutes a day. That´s enough exercise for a day.Eat regular meals at specific times that is breakfast, lunch , a midday snack and supper.Remember to eat a variety of foods to get the best from all food groups.

Take control of your health and your body with the right numbers, and you will see that you will feel better.

This is what I ate today:
Breakfast: Yogurt with sesame seeds and tea
Lunch: Salad ( fresh: broccoli, lettuce, tomato, carrots, cabbage, red onions, and marinated chick peas) to this I had fish again
Midday snack: tea tea tea
Supper: Mashed cauliflower with pork chops

Sharing my favorite recipe...

Hi guys, just want say thanks for the love and support. I feel so motivated to do this even more now, THANK YOU.
How was the weekend? Mine was fine just filled with lots of temptations though. You know everywhere I went people seemed to offer me Carbohydrates, unbelievable. Take this, was invited for a crayfish party! What is served? Potatoes, baguette, wine, crisps, sauces made with flour, you name it was all there. I actually surprised myself in a way, because I managed to remain discreet about my non-carbohydrate /-alcohol status. It all went well, no mistakes reported from my part.
I got a cold, so not much activity after that, was indoors the rest of the weekend, and too bad, no exercise either. That was not so good.

Anyway, for today I want to share with you a very fancy and absolutely delicious dish of mine. You guys will love it, I know for sure.
Stuffed Paprika/Peppers Mexican way
The ingredients
500g minced meat
2-3 eggs depending in size( beaten)
3 Carrots
2 cups of maize
3 Small onions
4 Cloves of Garlic
1 cup grated Cheese
1 cup of chopped tomatoes
2-3 tsp Chili powder
4 tbsp cooking oil
Salt and pepper to taste
If you have and would like, add Mexican spice you know taco mix (optional though)

NB: For those not doing the diet you can add, 1 cup of boiled rice.

Method

I: Set the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Peel and chop the onions, garlic and add to the minced meat. Peel and grate the carrots and add to the meat at the same time as you add the maize corn and cheese. Mix thoroughly. The rest of the ingredients tomatoes, chili , eggs, cooking oil, salt and pepper add them together. Then mix this to the minced meat mixture. I added some cashew nuts.

II: Prepare the peppers as in the the picture. Cut the tops clean the inside that is remove the seeds and rinse them in preparation for stuffing.

Stuff the peppers with minced meat mixture.
As always with this recipe its not all of the mixture that will fit into the peppers. With that I usually just make big meat balls with them. Sprinkle some cheese over the food.
Grill in the preheated oven for 30 minutes and this is what you get.

Breakfast: Tea and scrambled eggs and a banana
Lunch: Fish with crab & shrimp sauce served with salad
Snack: Peanuts and tea
Dinner: Broccoli and peas soup served with Tofu.
No training today. I have a cold.

Day 4 - First time, to say no to french pastries

Hi yáll!

How is it going with the diet? Any carb abstinence syndrome yet? Well, I have mine today but I have resisted so far. I should reward myself if I pull through which I will, I am determined. I really want pizza, for the sake of just having pizza, coz it´s forbidden, therefore I will not give in. Just ate some yoghurt and you know what, the cravings disappeared, just like that...

Anyway, I went to town to see a friend Monica , it was so much fun... I got a lovely autumn present from her, a jersey it was so lovely. So typical as we went through town we passed through an international food festival, how do you resist French pastries??? HOW? ??? Nightmare to the diet no pastries please, I just walked right across did not turn back. That was true temptation...but still pulled through.
Day 4- STILL NO CARBS... as we walked on by we see a crew of photographers and a model just outside The GUCCI Store and she was so thin and it inspired me even some more not to eat carbs. Check her out and the crew...

Breakfast: Yogurt with fruit and alfa alfa seeds
Lunch: A Chicken salad
Snack: Yogurt with plums
Dinner:Cauliflower Gratin form last night with some meatballs

Day 3 starting to feel lighter already

Hi everyone,

Today I thought of sharing with you one of my favorite recipes that I am going to eat tonight for dinner and it´s GI suited. It is a Cauliflower Gratin very tasty, great substitute for potatoes...This is is enough for 4 portions.

1 Big Cauliflower

2 tsb margarine

1 big potato cooked and mashed
200ml of vegetable broth or water from cooking the cauliflower
1 egg yolk
200 ml cream
1 cup cheese grated
Grated nutmeg, salt, peppar

Cook the cauliflower in lightly salted water until they are very soft. Drain and keep the water. Fry the mashed potatoes in margarine and add the vegetable broth or the water together with the cream. Mix off heat until it´s a smooth then on the heat to get a thick constancy. Add half of the cheese and egg yellow while steering, add salt and peeper to taste. Put the cauliflower in a Pyrex form and pour over the sauce over the vegetables. Sprinkle cheese over the sauce. Put the form in a very hot oven until the gratin gets a golden brown color. Serve with wine poached Fish... and vegetables like peas for example. You can can add carrots and onion , garlic , broccoli and mushrooms to the recipe to add more flavor . You can also use milk instead of cream as long as you cook the sauce longer for that rich thick sauce.....Try this dish, it is so delicious, both money and time saver.

Back to today´s menu this is what I at

For breakfast: I had Tea with milk and yoghurt
For Lunch I had left overs from last night the minced meat omelet...

I wont say much today but just my menu for the....
Breakfast: woke up late so I took Brunch with an omelet with tuna guys I love tuna fish these days, it tastes sooooo good
Midday Snack: Chocolate Smoothie
Supper: Minced Meat, Mushroom, Onion, Tomato omelet...Green lettuce Salad

Now I have had loads of water, I walked home for about 45 minutes and well , I am positive about this whole diet thing .

Let´s go on a lose weight quest....for 6 weeks

Hi guys!

I am back to school now and I am feeling quite good about this new autumn term. Well, the only sad thing is that after the summer you know the kilos pile up and you see it around the tummy area, hips and the face. All the same I have decided to do something about this and I am changing my lifestyle to lose the kilos. Since I am a GI diet fan, I will do that diet. Throughout the week, I will be giving you my daily diet and workout plan for those who want to join in, you are welcome and let go for it and see how much we lose.
The dos during these coming six week:
Power walk or train at the gym at least 1 hour a day;
Drink 2 liters water everyday;
Follow the GI diet quick start program religiously;
No alcohol;
Stay motivated
The don't s
No sugar (soft drinks, sweets, jam, you name it don´t go there;
Wheat products (Pasta, bread,etc)
No potatoes or Rice
No more than one fruit per day
No eating after 1900 hrs except for tea or nuts

NB: This diet is not calorie based so one eats until they are full.

Today´s meal plan
Breakfast: Natural Yogurt with a fruit and sesame seeds
Lunch: Tuna fish,cheese and green pepper omelet served with salad
Midday snack: Milkshake alt Smoothie
Supper: Grilled chicken served with Tsatsiki and Salad

Well I have just had my lunch now and I am off to the gym now. Stay motivated and have a nice day...

The Nigerian Guy - Seems like a man's man. A natural leader. An opportunist especially with the ladies. Again, it may not seem like it in the beginning but if they both stay on long enough, it will come out. Will get along better with the ladies. Happy-go-lucky. Liberal. Hippie. And probably cares a whole lot about a lot of unimportant issues.

Zimbabwe guy: I can't really tell. Not a lot of character in his face. Either comes from a very rich family or is a thief. How anyone gets so fat in a country where there is nothing to eat is a mystery to me! Might leave early.

Zambia guy: Annoying. Could pass for an cocaine dealer where i'm from.lol. will try too hard at everything. being cool, hooking up, winning tasks, trying to pretend he's hygienic.everything.

South Africa Guy: Serious case of SMS (small man syndrome). Extremely Annoying. He's not a fool. And he won't suffer fools either. Condescending - without necessarily having any position from which to be condescending.

Uganda Guy: overall cool guy. Ladies man i bet. Self appointed peace keeper.Artsy, Fun loving, lets-make-love-not-war kinda guy.

Ghana Girl: Prude. Like seriously prude. Absolutely won't hook up. **Is that a moustache i see on her?** Speaking as a ghanaian, i can bet my last dollar she's a virgin. She's from the North. Probably muslim. Trust me guys, there'll be no late-night shenanigans from this one. Motherly. Won't get along well with at least one of the other girls.

Tanzania Girl: Low budget prostitute.lol..i don't care what the organizers say. they know exactly where they found this one. on the streets of bangkok or berlin.

Namibia girl: Sweet-heart. lovable. likeable. very comfortable around the guys. Either that or she's the queen B herself.

Malawi girl: Very smart. She's beautiful and she knows it. More mature than the others. Will be the voice of reason. Much to the annoyance of the tanzanian girl.lol."

I was mostly surprised by the way K-daddy commented on the Zimbabwean guy, I mean how can you judge someone through the economic situation in the country. It´s absurd. I also disagree with K-daddy´s comments on the the other contestants as well. I mean the blog community has somewhat become a place for bullying, making personal attacks towards people and the worst of it all "IT IS ACCEPTED". Why? Well on the blog everything seems to be allowed or well you can get away with it I suppose. Simply said "Everything is allowed! something needs to be done....

These are just my reflections maybe they differ from yours but despite the differences RESPECT should always come first....

Ozwald Boateng is widely credited with introducing Savile Row tailoring to a new generation. He was the first tailor to stage a catwalk show in Paris. Among Boateng's many clients we find Laurence Fishburne, Samuel L. Jackson, Keanu Reeves and Mick Jagger.

While studying computing at Southwark College, he was introduced to cutting and designing clothes by his girlfriend at the time. Using his mother's old sewing machine, he started designing and selling clothes to his fellow students. At sixteen he sold his first collection to a menswear shop in Covent Garden, and by the time he was twenty-three he had set himself up full time in business.

Keen to learn the best of traditional tailoring, he would find out who best stitched buttonholes, who set sleeves the best way, who made the best linings and so on, at the same time developing his own style and look.

Ozwald sees himself as more than a tailor, and more than a designer, so he coined the term 'bespoke couturier'. He was the first Savile Row designer to open an American store when he opens his Madison Avenue boutique.

Summer holiday over!

Hi guys, I am now back!

Firstly I would like to say:
"Thanks for the emails, from all of you who were wondering where I was and how I was doing, these past few weeks..."
I was first of all in Enköping a town north of Stockholm at the summer house. After wards, I went further up to Dalarna and it was absolutely fantastic a holiday well needed.

I have now revived my energy and after these summer holidays it feels like a new period is starting, you know it´s like a new year! Besides enjoying the sun, I watched a lot of tv (cartoons) hahhahahahhaha, read a book Snabba Cash in swedish , swam at the summer house it´s near the sea, I read another book that I highly recommend to everyone Eat, shoots and leaves and lastly I gained at least 5 kg from all the good food I ate.

Unfortunately, while I was sorting the pictures on my camera, I somehow erased all the pictures . Typical right! All the same I am back and check this video out, one the videos, I watched... LOVE IT!

Swedish Ara Abrahamian throws his bronze medal in protest

Abrahamian threw down his 84kg greco-roman bronze in disgust after his shot at gold was ended by a decision denounced by the Swedish coach as "politics".

Abrahamian took the medal from around his neck during the medal ceremony, stepped from the podium and dropped it in the middle of the mat before storming off.

The Swedish wrestler had to be restrained by team-mates earlier as a row erupted with judges over the decision in a semi-final bout with Andrea Minguzzi of Italy, who went on to the take gold.

Abrhamian, who won silver at the Athens 2004 Games, shouted at the referee, then went over to confront judges, angrily throwing off the restraining arm of a team official.

Swedish fans booed loudly as the judges filed out of the arena. Abrahamian said nothing to waiting reporters but whacked an aluminium barricade with his fist as he left the hall.

"It's all politics," said Swedish coach Leo Myllari.

Myllari did not say if he intended to lodge a formal protest over the decision by referee Jean-Marc Petoud of Switzerland, judge Lee Ronald Mackay of Canada, and mat chairman Guillermo Orestes Molina of Cuba.

Hi guys!

I don´t know if I have mentioned this to you guys before but I love sports. However, I must say it´s thanks to my big brother, who introduced me to the world of Sports. First it was football, then tennis and afterwards he showed all about cricket and rugby. I remember how we used to sit every Saturday afternoon and watch English Premier League, those were the days. I remember too when in mid-June how we also watched Wimbledon. We loved it! It was so much fun!

The interest is still there for sports and I tell you it was a sport fun fare this summer. As you all know, there was the European Championships (Football) which were quite fun, even though, I personally think that Sweden was big disappointment.
Now it´s the Olympics though and some positive news so far. OH, what a start for Africa! Zimbabwe currently leading the ranks for Africa with 1 silver medal and Algeria with 1 bronze medal. Well done to the girls, so far!

Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe takes silver as she finished second at 4:29.89 minutes while Austarilan Rice had winning time of 4:29.45 and third place was American Katie Hoff who finished at 4:31.71.

China's Xian Dongmei won the Olympic gold medal in the women's 52kg judo today Sunday the 10th. North Korea's An Kum Ae won the silver. Japan's Misato Nakamura and Algeria's Soraya Haddad won bronze.

Hi guys! Do you remember some time ago, I wrote an article about World Map of Happiness. Guess what my guest author has decided to enlighten us, as to what makes Zimbabweans happy. The article is written and edited by ikereflections of zwTube.

Here is the answer to Africa With Style !
Four years on the trot Zimbabweans have been voted the unhappiest people on planet earth along with the Moldovans and Armenians, according to a US-funded survey just released. You don’t have to be a computer whiz-kid to google that for yourselves do you? It was also revealed here on Africa With Style.

"I strongly suspect there is a strong correlation between peace and happiness," said Ronald Inglehart, a political scientist at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research. Duh ! Do you really need to be a grey-haired be-spectacled geek scientist to figure this out?

Anyways, how else are Zimbabweans getting laughter whilst everyone else is feeling sorry for us? Beyond the almost booming music industry or the scrappy-but-hard-to-ignore local football there is quite a few whacky ones. This list is my no means exhaustive.

Around the sprawling city townships, at the local dealership called bottle-store (they sell beer) you are sure to run into hoards of men, young and old, congregated around pool tables (or snooker), serious at play and betting the last agro-cheque (everyone is a farmer down here by the way, courtesy of the Land Reform Programme te he he he !), which is instantly but regrettably converted into opaque beer. Crude jokes are tossed from man to man, the kind of boys-will-be-boys-thing. Believe me, if you are a lady you don’t want to be within ear-shot, if you know what I mean. Such is the verve around the game, it has developed a mini-league in Harare.

Out in the country-side, the national Scud alcoholic beverage, many a drinker’s bliss, is rumoured to be pegged at one United States dollar. It will leave you out of pocket. That is assuming you have the green-pack. So, aimless youths have resorted to home-made twenty-four hour illicit brews (probably made using soap) to keep them high. Those with a bit of change to go buy half-done wine called vinho (whatever that means) which apparently is slowly but surely reaching the city-scape too. So much for health and safety.

Back in the squalid townships, it is now open secret that spirit medium-directed and inspired ceremonies, called biras, are now a thing of the nights (remember the diesel mystic called Rotina Mavhunga and her shenanigans fooling everyone all the way up the hills to the very top); a scene reminiscent of war-ravaged pre-Independence rural Zimbabwe when folk used to gather willingly or otherwise for the all night vigils so-called Pungwes. Forgive me, I just don’t know what to make of this development. You tell me.

For those that enjoy the “finer” things in life, Theatre In The Park is the place to be spurred on by the likes of Daves Guzha who has been relentless on that front. It seems to be paying off. Literally ! Long movie queues still wind at cinema houses at Avondale for those that enjoy the big screen. This past-time doesn't seem to have lost its members or lustre. I haven't been to the movies for ages though I love films for real. The Kines have long been converted into churches though.

If you belong to the ever increasing less-heeled, a walk down First Street Harare will suffice. “Entertainment” enough and to spare from open air street theatre groups featuring Aphiri, Babalasi and Marabha is a daily release. Less frequently I swear to God, I have spotted the odd upwardly mobile C.E.O enjoying the act pretending though to be chipping away at the keypad of his expensive cellular phone (mobile for you Londoners).

The street motivational speaker-cum-preacher has always had cult following on Harare’s First street and is still happening.

Many people from Zimbabwe will remember a half-dressed prankster called Simon Wasu Nazerera. That’s right. The one who walks on a single strand of metal wire suspended between ends of palm trees and takes you through his Manyika dialect-laced antiques and insults. Well, he is thirty seven now and of course still alive, has upped his game but still insists on lifting a large piece of rail-road using his jaws ! Ouch! Careful mate not to lose your teeth one day.

If you are talking transport home after all that, the Marcopolo coaches are a thing of the past. Enter the open air trucks and you are just too happy to jump onto those anyhow. They will grind and pound but believe me you will be happy to be home nonetheless. My bad, I have to rush to queue for my mealie-meal. Until next time, see ya !

While Senator Barack Obama’s wife came first on the list, Senator John McCain’s wife did not make it on to the list at all and was dismissed by critics as being too conventional to be stylish. Mrs Obama joins French first lady Carla Bruni, Kate Middleton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tilda Swinton, Daniel Craig and Angelina Jolie on the list.Notable among those missing was Victoria Beckham. But given that Mrs Obama topped the lot, it was Mrs McCain who stood out most among the American absentees - and critics appeared to relish the fact.

“Clothes make the woman, after all,” wrote the New York Daily News of the snub.
“Like it or lump it, the personal style of each candidate’s wife has become an important part in establishing individuality, likability and power. Michelle Obama, who has her own favourite high-end designers, has made sure to advertise her everywoman-frugality every chance she gets.”

Keren Eldad, New York fashion manager of the Los Angeles Times, said: “McCain’s style is like the political style of her husband: conservative and outdated. It screams 'safety’ and escapes any nod to change, to risk, or to bravado. She may throw on a tailored leather jacket every once again, but through her pearls and all that hairspray, can we really detect any semblance of inspiration? Of fun?

“Obama, on the other hand, gets it. She is a modern woman, she has fun with fashion, she embraces life with fury and grace - making apparel choices so varied, that time and again signal this woman never sees anything in life as constant. Vanity Fair’s style connoisseurs deemed Mrs Obama ready for the crown of the world’s best-dressed woman for her ensemble of a Maria Pinto purple sheath dress, with a black Azzedine Alaïa belt, worn when her husband claimed the Democratic presidential nomination. “She’s our commander in sheath,” the magazine said.

When Mrs Obama appeared on the popular US daytime talk show, The View, wearing a black and white Donna Ricci dress that cost $148 (£74), the dress sold out overnight and made the designer a household name.

Mrs McCain, on the other hand, has been criticised for her stiff appearance and dress — her hair until recently was always styled in a rigid “up-do” - and is often compared with a Stepford Wife or a cyborg in the media and on blogs. When Mrs McCain made an effort to soften her image and literally let her hair down for a Vogue photo shoot, the Washington Post ran a feature on the transformation.

African Idol battle FINALLY over Eric WINS!

The competition maybe over , but for Eric Moyo, a fabulous career has just begun! The tension and excitement at The Bomas in Nairobi was off the hook as the Top 2 and the rest of your favourite contestants performed an unforgettable set.

The heat was on in Obama Kampla as the finale got underway. The 27 year old guy from Bulawayo versus the 19 year old girl from Kampala was the battle of the day.

The finale proved to be an extremely emotional culmination to the hectic Idols calendar and while singing his choice for the night, “When A Man Loves A Woman,” Eric’s cool as usual façade crumbled, his voice cracked and he was choked up with tears as he noticed his parents in the crowd for the first time this season.

Buoyed up by the good energy in the audience he managed to collect himself, earning a huge round of applause, but the tears were back as Lebo revealed that he had won. For the second time that night, Eric performed the song specially written for him by the guys at SonyBMG - “This Is My Everything” – and for the second time that night he cried openly, hugging runner-up Nicolette and the rest of the Top 10 as they emerged from the wings to congratulate him.

Now winning this show may be the highlight of his life, but, that is only the beginning. Now that he has won, the hard work really starts as Eric will be flying down to SA to record his single, heard first on Idols, and to start work on his much anticipated album.

Congratulations Eric you truely deserved to win! You were in a league of your own. All the best in your music career.

A teenage girl from Argentina has given birth to female triplets - for the second time! The teenager Pamela Villarruel poses with her seven children on May 11, 2008 outside her parents' home in the town of Leones in Cordoba Province , central Argentina . Pamela had her first set of female triplets aged just 15, giving birth to the second set a year later. As she gave birth to a son when she was just 14, that means young Pamela is now a mother seven times over, all before her 17th birthday!!
All seven children were born prematurely but without any kind of fertility treatment.
Pamela and her children currently sleep in the living room of her mother Magdalena who supports them all by house cleaning. The father of Pamela's first son abandoned them, the father of the first set of triplets was forced out of the house by the family for beating her, and Pamela refuses to identify the father of the more recent triplets. The young girl's mother, Magdalena, requested to have her daughter's fallopian tubes tied to avoid any further pregnancies, but was denied as Argentine law prohibits the procedure to be done on minors.

While doctors say the three newborns and their mother are well, the case has sparked debate across Argentina , the BBC has reported. In bars, cafes, and newspapers, there has been widespread criticism of Pamela's alleged promiscuity. Her family already receives help from the provincial authorities, which donated land and built them a house when the first set of triplets was born. But some Argentines are arguing that perhaps what Pamela needs is not financial help but more advice on contraception. Pamela's mother says they will now have to seek more assistance from the government. The teenager will be 17 years old on Monday.

Its Nicolette vs Eric in the final

The results for idol are out and this is how it all happened. Eric is said to have skipped across the stage to illustrate how “over the moon” he felt as Lebo, with a pretense at suspense, quickly announced that he would take the first spot in the only 2 safe seats reserved for the finalists.

Long tension-filled minutes later Lebo announced that Nicolette would be joining Eric in the Top 2! At first his announcement was greeted with absolute silence. Trinah was completely lost for words eventually admitting the results were a “shocker”. She looked absolutely stunned as she remained on the stage while Nicolette, just as surprised by the results, made her way to the safe seats.

Well, well, well ...That´s the name of the game you win some and you lose some sorry Trinah. We are in for a real final, full of good music. Bring it on guys. Let the best man win!!!!!!

Project Runway finally embraces an African

Hi everyone!

How was the weekend? I was working so it was not much of a weekend.
Project Runway is underway and finally an African, Korto Momolu managed to secure a place as one of the contestants on Project Runway Season 5. She is originally from Liberia but was fashion-trained in Canada. She later moved to Arkansas to pursue her passions which include weaving traditional African designs into contemporary clothing.

Korto is a multiple talent. She is a freelance photographer, does some African braiding and is also a makeup artist. I am eager to see how she progresses on Project Runway. She already has done well in the first episode where she was one of the top three designers. The challenge was to make clothing out of unusual sources. She made the dress below from a tablecloth, interesting right! Accessories were made from kale, cherry tomatoes and bell peppers! Way to go girl.

Making it in Hollywood

Hi everyone!

How has the week been? Mine has been alright! I just think it went so fast. Anyway......
As you´ve noticed Africa has invaded Hollywood big time. It all started with Hotel Rwanda, then came The Last King of Scotland , Constant gardener and Blood Diamond topped it all off. Still more movies are to come, I know for sure.

With that the promotion of black actors/actresses has enhanced but especially for actors with an African origin. Check out the 44 year old Benin model/actor Djimon Hounsou who´s career went sky rocketing when he was featured in Blood Dimond. He is currently Calvin Klein´s latest underwear model. On top of it all he is dating the gorgeous Kimora Lee Simons, making them among hollywood´s hottest couples. I know things were going up for him even before Blood Diamond but more publicity came his way, with the film.

An actress that has also really impressed me is 36 year old, Thandiwe Newton, who has Zimbabwean blood. I first noticed her when she was featuring in ER as Dr. Carter´s girlfriend/wife. Another thing is, I also like Thandie´s consistancy in fashion, she always looks lovely. For a mother of two, Thandie is truely an inspiration for all women especially mothers out there. Work it girl.
The 33 year old Charlize Theron, who has come from a tattered background "Mother killed alcoholist father, cold blooded when Charlize was in her teens". It was self-defence though but all the same,what a nightmare for any teenager! This South African actress has risen against all odds that come with the industry and managed to secure an Oscar for the movie, Monster. Charlize has proven that she has strong will and that she exerts excellence in all that she does. Don´t we all just love her?

A new comer to Hollywood is Benu Mabhena who played Jessy in Blood diamond or was Solomon Vandy´s wife. Benu is said to be a determined actress who has spent most of her life on the run, living in exile. Benu's family roots are with the Ndebele Tribe. Her parents and five brothers were born in Zimbabwe, while younger Benu and her sister hail from London. After spending four years in London, the family traveled back to Zimbabwe, where they stayed for two years. Then, they went to Botswana for a year; South Africa for several years; then back to Botswana; back again to South Africa, and on to Lesotho. Finally, the US government granted the family asylum, and they settled in San Francisco, where Benu spent her teenage years and began acting. She has done exceptionally well under her circumstances. Best perfomance this week!

Adiona unfortunately has been voted out. I blame it all on her song choice. Rihanna´s Umbrella is a big NO NO. I think it´s not serious enough. Another thing is she sang one of Celine Dion´s masterpeices and come on we all know you never attemp to do a Celine Dion reproduce unless you are Celine Dion herself. Some artists are just not to be sang in such competitions otherwise you will forever be compared to them and unfortunately will never compare to them.

I am a bit dissapointed with Adiona for this poor choice of songs. I really thought she had a chance of being in the last two. All the same "Adiona , I wish you all the best in your music career and I hope you find your niche... Adios".

To be honest though, I really was not impressed by any of the girls perfomances this week, I didn´t quite feel them. Shape up girls for real... We expect better song choices next week.

Now on a positive note, I just want to say, " the perfomance of the week was by ERIC when he sang End of the road by Boys II Men."
I seriously got chills like when I heard him sing When a man loves a woman by Michael Bolton. This guy can pull stunts only a pro can. Enjoy the perfomance.

Last year year’s list omitted Mohammed Al Amoudi but this year the Ethiopian born billionaire takes his rightful place. Al Amoudi migrated to Saudi Arabia from Ethiopia in 1965 and made his fortune in property before diversifying into petroleum interests. Al-Amoudi was one the biggest sponsors of celebrations earlier this year to mark the the start of the millennium in Ethiopia. The centre piece of his sponsorship was the construction of the multimillion dollar Millennium Central Hall in Addis Ababa.

Onsi Sawiris (Egypt)
African Rank No.3 – World Rank No.96 – Wealth $9.1 billion
The list has already seen the first of the Sawiris family and the top three positions are all taken up by family members, the Sawiris father and his other two sons. Onsi Sawiris despite being in retirement and having divested most of the Orascom Empire he built to his three sons has seen his wealth almost double from $5 billion in 2007 to $9.2 billion today. Interestingly the combined Sawiris fortune of $34.7 billion would see the family at No.7 amongst the world’s richest.

African Rank No.2 – World Rank No.68 – Wealth $11.0 billion
Of all those who made this list Nassef Sawiris has had the most spectacular rise in his wealth, last year his wealth was estimated at $3.9 billion but he starts this year with three times that fortune at $11 billion. Nassef Sawiris runs the construction arm of the Orascom empire and soaring oil prices have ensured his target market of the Middle East is awash with development funds. Orascom Construction signed some big deals last year including building a $1.8 billion fertiliser plant in Algeria, a $110 million Solar Plant in Egypt and part of a consortium building Cairo’s new metro.

Naguib Sawiris (Egypt)
African Rank No.1 – World Rank No.60 – Wealth $12.7 billion
In gloomy world economy the growth of telecommunications, the internet and the media have been one of the few bright spots. In the emerging market it has been no difference and Naguib Sawiris has benefited tremendously from this. In particular the mobile telephony part of his empire has shown strong growth although not without controversy as investments in North Korea and investigations into the purchase of an Italian Teleco.

Hi guys how was your day? It was raining in Stockholm, gloomy weather....
All the same today its footballers' day!These guys actually have lives too apart from when see them playing on TV I mean , I tend to forget that they have other things going on, relationships with their mothers, fathers, brother, sisters and not the least GIRLFRIENDS/ WIVES.....

Rumors have it that Nadia Buari the Ghanaian actress is now engaged to Chelsea´s Michael Essien. How far true this is, I don´t know, however I think they make a lovely couple. Look how in love he looks as he gazes at her in the picture. Unfortunately for Nadia one of Essien´s "ex-girlfriends" recently came out and accused Essien for being a serial cheater as she claims he had cheated on her for over 50 times while they were together and that´s why they broke up. That sounds really sick.... if he did this. BUT all that one hears/reads must be taken with a pinch of salt, right especially where celebrities are concerned! Please rate them for style what do you think?

And how did you imagine Drogba at home with his MRS... Well here are they, looking very happy and content together. This is Mrs ALLA Didiér Drogba, his wife for 7 years now and they have 3 lovely babies together. I love this couple. This is Africa´s own version of Posh and Beckham many have said, but I think she is too shy and therefore she won´t qualify for Posh status but I like here down to earth attitude. Big ups ALLA.

I am glad that Samuel Etoó is staying in Barcelona and I think his place is there. His reasons for staying though are thanks to his girlfriend Georgette who does not want to move to England. That is the lovely woman with a baby in her hands. That woman is as good as MRS ETOÒ guys and they even have 2 children together though it may not seem so as Etoó is not looking at her in that way. What´s going on between these two?

Who is the other beauty on the picture below? Certainly not Etoós sister I can assure. The beauty in this picture is Elizabeth. Samuel has been linked to this lovely lady who is from Cameroon as well. She was born in France and lives in England where she is schooling to be a judge.

Samuel and Elizabeth are said to have met many times but wanted to keep a low profile as Etoó is still in a relationship with Geogette. From what is said, Samuel was supposed to sign with Chelsea but his current girlfriend did not want to move from Spain because ..... you guys can connect the dots!!

The results were announced today and I am sad for Ammara she is out of the competition. I thought she would at least make it to the top tre or even the finals anyway that is how the competition goes as we all know. "Ammara, you were among my favorates in the competition... I am a big fan can´t wait for your music!"

On another note I just have to say, I was blown away by Eric´s stunts the guy can sing I am sooooooo proud of him and Adiona you too can sing girl. Keep doing what you are doing guys and you will both go far even after the competition. You really are representing Zimbabwe doing a great job. I am soooooo proud. Nice with some nice PR for Zim for once...

Hi guys!

I just wanted to share some good news good news good news people....
This is what I got a hold of recently. As we all know there is a shortage of certain resources back in Africa. Medicine being among the list of items. As a future pharmacist, I was compelled to ask if there was any opportunity to provide medicine for those ailing back home.

Well, I talked to one of the managers of the state owned pharmaceutical company Apoteket AB which runs a chain of pharmacies throughout the country. This is what he told me, "if a person back home does not have the opportunity to buy a certain drug because it´s too expensive or that the drug is not available in their own country an arrangement can be made". What one can do is that a valid prescription can be sent to a relative in Sweden who then goes to the pharmacy to claim and pay for the medicine. The thing is that the relative or acquaintance can not take out the medicine but the medicine is directly sent to the relative who is ailing...

I thought this was fantastic news for those who have sick relatives, who can not get hold of the required treatment.

Toping the list is Denmark, with its democracy, social equality and peaceful atmosphere, leading to it being the happiest country in the world, researchers in this World map of happiness project have said.

Yet Zimbabwe a country , torn by political and social strife, is the least happy. I became really sad when I read this and even more to read that as the rest of the world is getting happier, the African continent is becoming sadder .

This is what they say causes happiness:
"I strongly suspect that there is a strong correlation between peace and happiness," said Ronald Inglehart, a political scientist at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research, who directed the study.
Inglehart said, "there is a strong correlation between happiness and democracy".

Why Denmark then?
"Denmark is prosperous – not the richest country in the world but it is prosperous."
They add also the following highly ranked countries Puerto Rico, Colombia, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and Sweden.

The united states ranks 16 even if it´s ranked the world´s richest country.The researcher Inglehart said, "Though by no means the happiest country in the world, from a global perspective the United States looks pretty good," . "The country is not only prosperous; it ranks relatively high in gender equality, tolerance of ethnic and social diversity and has high levels of political freedom."

What determined who are happy or not was the extent to which people were free to choose how to live their lives, Inglehart said.

Really sad to read even if Sweden is in the sixth place felt sad for my fellow Africans. To cheer me up though, this is what I watched at got a laugh at least....

Hallo Universe!

As you have noticed added to the blog is a Live visitor tracker, and by that all reading the blog can see where the other visitors are coming from. It´s a fun tool.

Guys now to something else. I just want to know! Did anyone of you have a strict English teacher like I had in primary school. If not, I will tell you a bit about mine. This lady had a glossary of words and terms that were a big NO NO.... Among those was this one word I totally LOVE and its ehhhhhhhhhhh -flabbergasted. Yeah thats the word, I still find it hard to use the today even if it has been more than decade since I had contact with that woman. I mean her voice still echoes in my head. What an impact, right? Do your teachers voices still surround your thoughts at times? Let me know, if they don´t maybe I might need to get some professional help......hehehehhehe!

Anyways the reason why I have to against all the rules of English I was taught is that today I was flabbergasted by the results of my End term exam. I passed , I passed, I passed..... I cant believe it. For this exam I felt as though I had just put 10% input yet reaped 100% output. To be honest I am FLABBERGASTED. I cant understand how and why I passed. I still have not seen the answer sheet and my passing mark. All I have right now is just the confirmation letter that I got a pass. There are no grades in the program I am studying. Its either you pass or fail. One more thing only a mere 26% passed the exam can you believe it, it was that hard...

It was such goods news I just felt compelled to share.

We all do want to lose weight, right? This we want to do without struggling at all in other words without having to starve to death and without having to lose any concentration levels... A miracle diet is what we want. But just hold on, what miracle diet are you talking about isn’t it The GI DIET? The diet that has come to Sweden and that has exploded to levels no one would ever have imagined.... Of course, it is and it works like wonders!

What then is The GI (i.e. Glycemic Index)?
This index ranks foods based on their effect on blood sugar in your body. Each food on the Glycemic Index receives a "score" according to how much your blood sugar level increases within a few hours of eating it. When following any weight loss diet based on this concept, you'll be choosing from foods that have a low GI rating. By avoiding starchy foods with fast carbohydrates like pasta, rice, potatoes and basically any foods that are not wholegrain you will I guarantee you DROP weight like crazy……

Before I go further you might make a link to the Atkins diet but they are not similar at all, so don't get this wrong. The G.I.Diet states that you must eat carbohydrates but the right ones that come from fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans and low fat dairy products. All these can be eaten without letup while saturated fats and fast carbohydrates are eliminated totally from the diet. This diet is what all health, medical and nutritional GURUS have recommended for years now. How many times have we heard Gillian McKeith (You are what you eat) emphasize the need to include loads of vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, lean meat/fish and whole grains in the diet as this is essential for a long-term good health? The G.I. Diet is what we all need to eat to feel fabulous.

More positive things say about GI: For all those with diabetes read the following statement slowly and carefully ”this diet has helped many keep the sugar level in tact helping them to improve their quality of life ". How about that? Why not give the diet a try, its worth it especially if you are having problems with sugar levels. What I like mostly about the GI diet and i think this you should all hear about is that the energy levels are high all the time because the sugar levels are constant and never will you feel drowsy after eating a GI meal, I love GI diets.

Good afternoon to you all! How is it going out there?

Stockholm is pouring, cats and dogs, spoiling a lovely sunny day. Anyway what to do besides just accept that it´s the way it is. Probably some of you are wondering why I am complaining but believe me if you have spent almost half of the year in the winter here in Sweden I am sure you would be complain too, at the slightest weather change that deprives you of the sun. Oh the sun a precious commodity here in the north.

Enough about the weather lets talk work opportunities in Sweden.... Anyone who needs to find employment is never satisfied with just one job application but applies for as many vacancies as possible right. How does the saying go by the way? Yeah, "If you search you will find" and definitely the attitude to have whilst looking for employment here in Sweden.

Where then to start one may wonder but it´s simple start of with a CV, get acquainted with some websites I will show you below and make very good use of google and start some serious job hunting. Always make a good presentation of yourself attach it to your electronic CV, so that you can send it to as many vacancies as possible that fit in to your qualifications. Hi guys! I hope your day has been wonderful. Mine was quite hectic and it´s only now I feel I can sigh of relief. I am so glad the day is over you can not imagine.

So once again I would like to say it´s really amazing how much response I am continuously getting from you and the feedback is awesome! Thanks once again, for all your support. Before I continue with this week´s theme I would like to answer a question that has been reoccurring a number of times since I launched the blog. These are some of the comments I got regarding the issue:

"Good start. Please let us know how people react to black people there ........".

"What is the general attitude towards black people? .......... are you accepted or are you seen as a species exhibit?"

This is apparently a concern that most of you have regarding Sweden. To clarify I would like to say that what I say here and now is based only on my experiences about the Swedes so far. So if you maybe ask someone else they will probably relate another point of view regarding this matter.

To really understand this issue it might help with some background information about Sweden´s immigration history. Sweden does not have a long history of black immigrants due to its geographical location and its non-colonial history. However, immigrants have come to Sweden and they have mainly come from the Baltic states. So, Sweden is used to taking care of foreigners and a system has been established to help all who have newly arrived to integrate into the country. Well, I can not compare this system to the other European countries´ since I have no access to their integration policies. What I know for a fact though is, that Sweden has taken in most foreigners i.e. Iraq refugees compared to the rest of the EU countries all put together. This says that Swedes are alien friendly.

I would like to say that I have not experienced any racial prejudice towards me from a Swede because I am black. However, I have had encounters with other non-black foreigners and those have in way tried to put themselves above me as a black person by saying that I as black have the tougher situation in Sweden compared to them. I disagree totally with this, because there many blacks who have worked hard and have established themselves in the society. What I have realized in Sweden, regardless of what many say, it is like this, as long as you are determined and you know your facts the doors are unlimited despite what your background is.

What I would like to point out lastly is that how you dress and present yourself is very , very important as a black person. In this aspect a Swede can get away with a scruffy , shabby look, however not a black person. It is unfortunately like this, however as a shabby black person you give Swedes the impression that you have struggled and still is struggling either financially, emotionally or psychologically. I think this is influenced by the pictures shown of Africa in the media. This is not a fact however it´s just a quick link they make, I presume. So now if you would like to get a more positive response, I recommend a clean, neat and well arranged appearance for every black person . You definitely need to be an African with Style. This beats the hurdles that make come with a pre- judgmental attitude.

On an overall I would like to say Sweden has a lovely system for foreigners, and I would hesitate to move here if the chance arose because a lot has been done to make foreigners feel at home. As a black you need to prove yourself though, compared to a Swede.

Blackness in Sweden- Labour immigrants

Hi guys, thanks a lot for the support! I am truly overwhelmed by your response it means a lot for me. Many have sent comments highlighting what they would like read which is a lot of help for me because I can redirect my thoughts in the right direction therefore I will write for 100% for you.

Anyway continuing on the same theme of being black in Sweden, I would like to point out today that for it to be possible to be "Afro-Swedish" you need to be here in Sweden right!. Many may not know though that coming to Sweden is among the hardest processes due to a number of factors of which a few of I have already mentioned yesterday and that is the language. I am not going to touch on the language factor today....

Yet another factor that I will mention though is that the country is isolated from since there are few foreigners with an African background that are living here. This means that most people who might want to move here are put off by the idea of moving to a place where they do not know anyone, making Sweden even more isolated. Another thing too I have noticed is that there is not much information about Sweden in English that is readily available for anyone, if inquiries are to arise since most of it is in Swedish. If you do not know anyone living here, I´m quite sure most of you are like me you would not pick up the phone to call the embassy to inquire on what exactly is meant by the piece of information provided..... you would just leave it at that, right?

That is one of the reasons why I started this blog, partly to help those who might be interested in moving to/ visiting Sweden. I will be posting on a regular basis some tips and suggestions of how one can come to Sweden. At the same time if you know someone and you have the right information as well a good contact with your Swedish Embassy your way to Sweden will be the easiest to. Nothing is hard as long as you have the solution to the equation.

What I will take up below is among the hottest debates in Sweden right now. an article that was published recently that is on the 3rd of June 2008 highlighted that Sweden has large percentage of an aging population. already by year 2011 a total of 124 000 people are going to be pensioners. Within 10 years over a million people will have retired which means that the labour force in Sweden will not be enough. The EU countries are in a more or less similar situation as us, making it only possible for Sweden to look to recruit labour outside EU.

One factor already is that there is shortage of 25 000 construction workers as it is right now and
labour from immigrants is more than welcome starting from the 15 December 2008. To be able to qualify as a labour immigrant there is a particular criteria one needs to fulfill and they are as follows:

You must have a written offer of employment in Sweden, made out on a special form which your employer can obtain via the the Swedish Public Employment Service's web site www.arbetsformedlingen.se . After approval from the Public Employment Service your employer must send the form to you so that you can enclose it with your application.
Your employer shall guarantee you pay, insurance coverage and other terms of employment equal to at least the collective agreement or Swedish practice in the profession or the branch of trade.
Accommodation must have been arranged for you in Sweden
You must be fully prepared to leave Sweden when your term of employment is over.

Being black in Sweden

This week I will be featuring Sweden from an african/foregner´s perspective. It´s never easy moving to a new country where everything is new. The people, the culture and most of all the unwritten rules that can make one feel accepted or out of place and these are just among the changes that one has to deal with when moving.

The biggest change when one moves to Sweden though, I would say is the SWEDISH language. For anyone to really make it and to feel as a part of the swedish society one needs to know the language. Therefore the first thing that I usually recommend to anyone moving here on a permanent basis is that they redirect their resources into learning the language. Why I recommend learning swedish despite what your background is, is that it makes everything else easier and what I primarily mean is the practical part of life.

There is a language package at the universities or other education centers designed to help newly arrived foreigners called Swedish For Foreigners (SFI). Since all education is free in Sweden one does not need to fear the costs that come with the course.

Another thing is that as much as one is proud of their background it is most helpful to know how Swedes live their lives and why they live their lives the way they do. This gives one an overall veiw of the society and makes it easier to understand a number of things happening around one. The best way to understand Swedes is to associate with them. As hard as many claim this to be since swedes are are a bit closed on an initial contact, I still think that one should try as much as they can to get to know a number of swedes, as this helps in the long run.

There is also another aspect to sweden which a swede cannot help one with and that is when it comes to things like foreign food, hair and skin products for black people, african clothing, interior designing, music and so on... In this area it helps if you know someone with an african background. However lately there has been an increase in the range of shops providing african services. What I miss though from most of these african retailers is quality and exclusiveness in the presentation and the service provided. I do understand that since the whole country is predominantly white, many of the retailers don´t regard the foreign market as lucrative, therefore they are not investing in this area. However small scale companies owned by private people with little capital are opened. Naturally these partnership company owners are not willing to spend much on the extra details that give class and quality so in that case african servives are behind the rest. I ´m happy about one thing though and that is that these shops are there... otherwise where in this country would I be able to get my products.

Hi guys I have had a really busy weekend with work, casting for an advertisement and so on ... thats why its been very terrible with updating but will surely improve this week!

Hi guys, the match is now finally over, what a match! Holland I wonder how they do it they are on fire!

I just had to watch Holland´s match today after they had massacred Italy on their previous match. However I knew that even though I was up for a GOURMET supper today it would have to eat it in front of the TV. We call them TV dinners...

So this is what I made:
Garlic beef braised in Rosé Wine and Balsam Vinegar.
Quinoa pasta and broccoli coated in pesto sauce. I also served Rucola and to give it a more friday feeling we topped it of the with a glass of South African wine Mulderbosch a Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé from Stellenbosch.

Best dressed politician a Kenyan

Hi guys the list is now finally out and I am so proud to present the nominees for this year...

Well this year forget France´s president Nicolas Sarkozy or even Hamid Karzai, Afghan president who made it in the Esquire magazine´s list of well dressed man in 2007 . This year only one politician made it to the top ten rankings and he happens to have Kenyan blood. I am talking about Barrack Obama a politician with Kenyan roots.

Not only has Obama enjoyed the success of being ranked in Esquire but has silently given an answer back to Tom Ford one of the fashion icons, who has long said he wants to sharpen Obama´s already well thought look of tailored suits with a tinge of edginess. He has actually said in other words that he thinks that Obama is not well dressed. The funny thing though is that Tom Ford did not make it in the list at all. That says something about our fashion icons hmmm... I suppose like beauty, fashion too is in the eye of the beholder.

For Obama everything seems to be working out just right, he is now the democrats presidential candidate. However Telegraph News possed a question that I too am wondering over, they say "What does Obama really finds most amusing? Being the presidential candidate or being one of the best dressed man in the world this year?".

Hi everyone I hope you had a lovely day wherever you are in the world...
Happy news for me today! My sister-in -law bought me this lovely dress from Spain Madrid. She is situated there now and when she came home for the summer vacations and had this lovely present for me. I am totally flattered because its the perfect outfit for this summer " The sailor fashion" in other words nautical clothing is in. I love it, one can wear it both formally and casually without losing elegance. What I love mostly about this particular dress is the details the white band and the polka-dotted bow on the shoulder quite elegant.....

As seen in the pictures the dress can be worn in a way suitable for an after work drink/ night out with the girls. But if you lose the heels and add on a pair of sneakers like Gant, Superga or Deck shoes you wont only be fit for sailing but definitely will look great for a casual day out.This is how I looked in the dress today and I admit I got quite a number of compliments regarding the dress today.

If you don´t prefer a black pair of shoes well this gold, bronze and white stripped pair designed by Jennifer Taylor will not go wrong. The party purse is pretty enough in black and I prefer it that way.

A lovely summer day

It has been once again a lovely summer day in stockholm and everyone looks lovely. Unfortunately, I had to work today so I couldn´t sunbath at all. After work I took a walk back home with one of my best friends catching up on some old time it was really fun.
Days like this I cant eat during the day I get so puffed up in the stomach so this is actually what I drank the whole day at work," Oatmilk ".

Its actually very good for me since I have a sensitive stomach. Low GI too so you do not feel hungry at all, I love this drink.
Yesterday was one of those shopping days and this is what I bought for myself. Some accessories from H&M.

The flowers costed 29.50kr and are they were in three different colours cream ad light blue. I prefered these ones though to the rest.
This lovely peice of work matches almost anything in my wardrobe I love it only cost 49.50kr.

Well its an early morning for me tommorrow so I will call it a day for now.

Summer makeup

Today was really one of those lovely days in Stockholm, the weather was perfect sunny and bright. I , in particular was feeling up for shopping. Surprisingly my darling was up for a shopping round as well which is rather rare, however I am not complaining instead I am quite happy about the whole outcome. We went to NK where I bought some makeup I had totally run out. I only had primer, eyeliner and lipgloss left. One cant get too far with that.

Mac is my favorate makeup brands at the moment you find them at Åhléns and NK, they have everything. They actually have the best make up for all skin types and I cant find any foundation or concealer that works better than this particular brand for my skin.

Right now, after sun bathing my skin is very uneven and to really achieve the look I want to have I must have 2-3 different shades of foundation as below. It really does make a differance in how the makeup looks at the end of the day.

The shades are NC45, NW47, & NW45.

Girls for me M.A.C is the best try it out girls you wont regret.
